NHL referee Mitch Dunning was stretchered off and taken to hospital after he made a violent impact with the ice after colliding with Colorado defenseman Josh Manson

The NHL said Mitch Dunning was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons and that all neurological signs are normal.

After a violent collision with Josh Manson during Monday's game during the Colorado Avalanche and Philadelphia Flyers saw Dunning stretchered off the ice, the Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported Tuesday that the referee is "sore but otherwise fine" and is back home resting.
