A Kentucky sheriff has been arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of a district judge inside a courthouse, Kentucky State Police said.

A Kentucky judge was fatally shot in his courthouse chambers on Thursday, according to authorities, who said a county sheriff has been arrested and charged with murder.

The governor said the judge was fatally shot in his chambers, and police said the sheriff opened fire following an argument. State police say District Judge Kevin Mullins was hit multiple times in the shooting.
