National Player of the Year candidate Johni Broome and No. 3 Auburn captured the Maui Invitational championship with a 90-76 win over Memphis on Wednesday at Lahaina Civic Center. Broome and frontcourt running mate Dylan Cardwell dominated Penny Hardaway’s Tigers (6-1).

Johni Broome scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead No. 4 Auburn to the Maui Invitational championship with a 90-76 win over Memphis.

Memphis basketball opened the Maui Invitational on Monday in Maui with an overtime win against No. 2 UConn in the eight-team tournament. Memphis defeated Michigan State 71-63 on Tuesday to advance to the championship game against No. 3 Auburn on Wednesday.
