Arsenal are in the midst of a busy summer, and they have already ticked off some of their needs, snapping up a new back-up goalkeeper quickly by landing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. It also looks as though the midfield has been sorted, with Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard on their in to replace Thomas Partey and Jorginho.

While his exact role under Arteta hasn’t yet been ironed out, Heinze is joining an esteemed coaching team that also includes the Spaniard’s right-hand man, Albert Stuivenberg, set-piece coach Nicolas Jover, and goalkeeper coach Iñaki Caña.

Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze is set to join Arsenal ’s coaching staff in time for pre-season beginning next week. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been looking to add to his backroom staff after assistant coach Carlos Cuesta became Parma’s head coach earlier this summer.
