Surprise! Cyberpunk 2077 is getting yet another update, roughly a year after its last major patch dropped. Update 2.2 was confirmed by the official Cyberpunk 2077 X / Twitter account. It'll be detailed in an upcoming REDstreams livestream happening later today (December 10) at 8am PST / 4pm GMT / 5pm CET.

This news came as a shock to many. CD Projekt Red previously treated Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 as its last major update — Updates 2.11 and 2.12 focused mostly on bug fixes and polishing — and the company’s Q1 2024 earnings report noted everyone on the development team had moved on to other projects as of April 30.

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt was thought to have moved on from the game and onto other projects such as The Witcher 4 and the Cyberpunk sequel, but it’s just surprised fans by confirming yet another significant patch is on the way.
