The San Jose Sharks did just about everything they wanted to do in the first period of Thursday’s game against the New York Rangers. Then, as the second period wore on, they began to do the exact opposite.

NEW YORK — Mika Zibanejad, Jimmy Vesey and Vincent Trocheck each scored in the second period and the New York Rangers beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Thursday night.
