With his Wild bag over his right shoulder and wearing a suit and dress shoes with no socks, Boyd got out of the black SUV he was in with Hennig and began to sprint past a logjam of cars filing into the Scotiabank Saddledome parking lots so he could play Saturday afternoon against the Calgary Flames.

The Minnesota Wild announced they have recalled newly acquired defenseman David Jiricek and sent forward Travis Boyd to their AHL affiliate Iowa Wild. Jiricek was acquired yesterday in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Daemon Hunt and draft picks.

With Jonas Brodin still out with an injury and Hunt traded in the deal, Jiricek was the Wild's most NHL ready defender from the Iowa Wild. Minnesota host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday before going on a three-game road trip on Friday.
