College Station Mayor Karl Mooney has started an initiative that has been in the works for the last 12 years to bring a YMCA to Bryan-College Station.

The YMCA began leasing space for the Riverside branch after the Lakefront branch, at 725 Lake Ave., closed in June 2019, according to earlier reporting from the Journal Times.
