Microsoft announced on Wednesday that it’s starting to roll out a way for users to share files between their iPhone and Windows 11 or Windows 10 PCs via the company’s Phone Link app and Link to Windows app.

The flaw has been added to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which will require Federal Civilian Executive Branch (FCEB) agencies to apply necessary remediations by December 31st.

A new Phone Link update that’s now rolling out across all Insider channels will let Windows 11 and Windows 10 users share files between their PC and iPhone.

Microsoft has started testing some improvements to its Phone Link app for iPhone users. Windows Insiders can now try out a new way to share a file from an iPhone to a PC and vice versa, making the experience a little more like file sharing with an Android device.

Microsoft updated its support page to warn users not to run Windows 11 on an unsupported PC, but the company also has official instructions on installing the operating system on devices that don't meet minimum requirements. Generally, that means PCs with a TPM 2.0 chip — a security chip required for Windows 11.
