Barclays banking app goes down on first payday since Christmas for millions
Hundreds of people have been left unable to access their Barclays account – just in time for payday. Customers began reporting issues using the mobile banking app and making and receiving payments since 10am.

Barclays’ app and online banking appear to be down. Huge numbers of Barclays customers were hit by problems around lunchtime, according to tracking website Down Detector. Barclays said it was aware of the problems, that was “sorry about this” and assured customers it was “working hard to fix the issue”.
