SiouxlandProud.com on MSNLive updates: Bryan Kohberger in court after accepting plea deal in Idaho case( NewsNation) — Bryan Kohberger, accused of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022, is set to accept a plea deal on Wednesday, when a judge will hear the agreement. Judge Steven Hippler will decide whether to accept the plea agreement, which removes the death penalty in exchange for Kohberger changing his plea to guilty.
Kohberger’s trial was set to start in August and was expected to last more than three months. An attorney for the family of Goncalves confirmed that families of the victims received news of the plea deal in a letter from prosecutors Monday.
His trial was scheduled to begin around Aug. 18. Prosecutors were seeking the death penalty for the 2022 murders of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves.
