A 72-year-old man has been identified as the “Nail Bandit” responsible for tossing sharp objects in the path of fire and rescue vehicles headed to emergencies, Florida investigators say.

Volusia County officials say the grant, which is just over $583,000, is the largest Assistance to Firefighters Grant in division history.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and crews have initiated a fire watch to monitor the situation.

Officials say that multiple fire departments from all over the area have been called to assist in putting out the fire.
