A new wildfire was reported today at 4:57 p.m. in San Bernardino County, California. Barkley 2 Fire has been burning on private land. There is no update on the containment progress of the fire and its cause has not yet been determined.

The fire is has burned approximately 478 acres with a "dangerous rate of spread" through heavy brush, firefighters said.

The Lake fire broke out in Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area in San Bernardino County, burning more than 400 acres and prompting evacuations and road closures in the region.
