Authorities confirmed that a female passenger believed to be pregnant was shot in the back on the Gulf Freeway and taken to the hospital.

Part of the Gulf Freeway was closed down Thursday after a dangerous situation unfolded. According to Texas City police, a shooting took place just before 10 a.m. in the northbound lanes near FM 1765.
