The Cincinnati Reds have a lot of different ways they could go about the ninth pick in the mLB Draft this year. One way that was presented in a recent mock draft has them landing a very highly rated left-handed college pitcher. In Keith Law’s recent mock draft for The Athletic, the Reds select Jamie Arnold, left-handed pitcher from Florida State.

Abbott (7-1, 2.15 ERA) has pitched well enough in 15 starts to help put the Reds at the fringes of the wild-card playoff mix – and maybe well enough yet earn a first All-Star bid the way teammate Hunter Greene did a year ago.

Only one Cincinnati Reds player was selected to the National League for the 2025 All-Star Game. Star shortstop Elly De La Cruz was picked for the All-Star Game for the second straight season. He will be the team’s only representative.
