A wind-driven wildfire in Cook County that started on Saturday afternoon has triggered “Go Now” evacuation orders for people living south of Prineville.

A new wildfire broke out late Saturday afternoon southeast of Prineville and grew to about 1,200 acres in a matter of hours, prompting numerous evacuations in the Juniper Canyon area.

Level 3 evacuations are in place for the Highland Fire in Crook County, south of Prineville, which sparked Saturday afternoon and was driven by wind.
