The Texas Longhorns led the Kentucky Wildcats 24-7 at halftime in Austin Saturday thanks to two first-half touchdown grabs from tight end Gunnar Helm. Helm had three grabs for 34 yards and the two scores.

Ewers was the last name called during the pregame ceremony at Royal-Memorial Stadium and he received a nice amount of applause from the fans at Royal-Memorial Stadium. He was also seen wearing a celebratory lei while walking down Bevo Boulevard after the Longhorns arrived on campus.

The results don't suggest that Kentucky has an elite defense, they are 1-6 in Southeastern Conference play at 4-6 overall, but they had the injury bug hit them. Now, some of the main contributors will be available including outside linebacker JJ Weaver and 345-pound defensive tackle Deone Walker.
