Meteorologists with the NWS Paducah office have also confirmed several tornadoes in its region the afternoon and evening of May 16. Three tornadoes impacted western Kentucky, including an EF-3 tornado in Morganfield with winds of 155 mph, an EF-2 tornado in Allegre and an EF-2 tornado in Casky.

The National Weather Service is warning of still more days of dangerous weather conditions across the central U.S. The agency issued the forecast Monday after four days of tornadoes, thunderstorms and heavy rain killed more than two dozen people.

The weather system, which began on Friday, produced more than two dozen tornadoes that ripped through parts of Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

Dozens of tornadoes were reported across five states killing more than 20 people. And Chicago is under a "dust storm warning" for the very first time.
