South African Revenue Services (Sars) officials and police have reportedly raided the La Lucia, Durban, home of controversial businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize. According to Newzroom Afrika, the raid took place on Tuesday afternoon, with locksmiths also at the scene.

Alleged tax evader Shauwn Mkhize felt the long arm of the law on Tuesday (26 November) when the South African Revenue Service (Sars) and the South African Police Service (SAPS) swooped on her home in an affluent Durban suburb.

Mkhize is locked in a legal battle with the country’s tax collector over an alleged R37 million in unpaid taxes.
