It’s well-documented that the Coors Field crowds remain sturdy, win or lose. Both Friday and Saturday night were sold out. They came for the incredible postgame fireworks show, the $3 pregame beers on the upper deck, the temperate weather, beautiful sunset and picturesque venue.

The Rockies got on the board quick in the bottom of the first inning against Shane Smith, as Mickey Moniak clubbed a leadoff home run to right center. The team added on in the bottom of the second inning as a dreaded leadoff walk to Ryan McMahon came around to score after a single and fielder’s choice RBI by Yanquiel Fernández brought him around.

Moniak — who was 3 for 4 with three RBIs — ended up a double shy of hitting for the cycle. Moniak, who started in center field, led off the first with a home run to right off Shane Smith, Moniak’s 13th homer of the season. He also singled in the seventh.
