SEATTLE — The Yankees’ fears were confirmed on Tuesday when Oswaldo Cabrera was diagnosed with a fractured left ankle. The effervescent third baseman was injured in a gruesome play at the plate in the ninth inning Monday night at T-Mobile Park, which forced him to leave the field in an ambulance headed to a local hospital.

In the ninth inning of the Yankees’ 11-5 win over the Mariners on Monday night, third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera fractured his left ankle while scoring on a ninth-inning, bases-loaded sacrifice fly by Aaron Judge. LeMahieu will be in Seattle for Tuesday’s game.
