Jun 15, 2013 · It was 0.051 calibers. Just because OCD, I tweaked the fin position forward and the new stability factor is 0.001 caliber. In the design panel, it gave me a warning about the booster stage tumbling under thrust. But when I look at the sim results for the full rocket, the warning about the airframe open on the forward end goes away.

Oct 27, 2024 · I've decided to use poplar "Lite-Ply" plywood from BMS, it seems tough enough but much lighter than birch. I want to save all the weight I can on the buns end of the rocket. I used a very hard pencil to get a sharp line. I'll cut the fins a hair outside the line, then sand to the final dimensions (and make sure the side fins match).
