Stainless Steel 316 is a higher corrosion resistance than Types 302 and 304 with high creep strength. It has improved high temperature strength over 304 and shows excellent resistance to pitting. Grade 316 is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. Stainless Steel 316L is an extra-low-carbon modification of Type 316.
